netgear dg834 firewall rules not loading

when i enter my netgear config i can access all pages apart from the firewall rules page
thing is the page is displayed but something is still trying to load in the background.

if i click stop in the browser i still cant change any of the settings as when i click apply the page just goes on and on trying to load something.

i turned on java debugging and got a few errors on line 45 it happens in all browsers opera, firefox and konqbrowser.

i thought it might be the java client i have installed 1.5.0.1 but it still does it on 1.4.2.0.6

not got this problem in windows works fine

does any one else with netgear dg834 have this problem with linux (i use suse) if i didnt have windows i would have bought another router but its a pain having to boot into windows just to change a firewall rule.

can any1 help, thanks

(i put this in the networking forum but didnt get a reply someone might see it here)

something off topic i found an anwser to system sounds stopped working after updating kde

fix is here Comment #40 "bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94918"
(cant post a link yet so copy and paste)

a mod of this forum should make this a how-to or make a sticky (pinned) post

credit goes to John Griffiths

Edit /opt/kde3/bin/startkde so that the line

LD_BIND_NOW=true kdeinit +kcminit

is two lines

LD_BIND_NOW=true
kdeinit +kcminit

everything works just fine with my router.. i have a netgear.. and SuSE 9.2.. so.. I'm not sure what your problem realy is.. what kind of browser are you using?

Have you tried having somone else go in and work on it? /have you tried accessing it w/ a different box?

well.. that's strange, because I have absolutly no problem.. I'm running SuSE 9.2...

oh.. one last thought .. you should try disableing your SuSE firewall.. I find that it gets in the way of a lot of things.
