Netflix installing on Asus Netbook

I have a 1.66 GHZ,1GB memory Netbook and just installed the latest version of PPA:Netflix software on Ubuntu 1204 os. No problems installing. However, when I ran a netflix movie, the speed was awful slow. I tried another movie and it was the same. I turned off the system and the next day tried again. For some reason this time it would not play the movie. Instead, it kept displaying the required parameters for running Netflix which my specs. met. What could be causing this problem? Thanks for your attention/reply.

What is the processor on your netbook? An Atom processor is too slow to play Netflix with good framerate in Linux, in my experience. You will have better luck with Windows XP (or upgrade to a faster computer).

To troubleshoot your problem with "would not play the movie" try deleting the hidden folder (press Ctrl+h in the file manager to see hidden folders) called: .wine-browser which will delete your profile and start fresh. Also make sure your system is fully up to date with the Update Manager.

This thread has some excellent archived advice on Netflix in Ubuntu: http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/inde...t-2084592.html

Update! re: my post on NetFlix. I found out why my Netflix movies would not work right. It was a simple mistake I made in running the Ubuntu Netflix which differs from running it via Windwo's XP. I had failed to start the Dash's (N) program which is produce by PPA install. Long story short, All is working just fine now on my netbook and movies all play good. Mark this one as resolved and closed.

I want to thank you for your instant helpful reply on a Sunday. Again thanks.
