Nessus / RH problem
RH 9 Kernel 2.4.20-18.9 Nessus 2.0
Receive error when trying to run "nessusd", client "nessus", runs fine. I did the following: Downloaded Nessus using lynx (per nessus.org). Everything seemed to download and setup fine. In addition I was able to configure cert, and add user successfully. Afterwards, tried to start nessusd and received following error: # /usr/local/sbin/nessusd -D nessusd: nessusd: cannot execute binary file The following is permission: # ls -l total 1624 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 6422 Jul 9 13:54 nessus-adduser -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1621212 Jul 9 13:54 nessusd -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 11340 Jul 9 13:54 nessus-mkcert -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1104 Jul 9 13:54 nessus-rmuser -r-xr-xr-x 1 root root 5027 Jul 9 13:56 nessus-update-plugins -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3436 Jul 9 13:50 uninstall-nessus The client "nessus" works fine, however it does me no good obviously without the server "nessusd" running. New to linux and not sure where to go from here. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but experienced the same. Thanks in advance, Matt |
