Question maybe change your settings?

You may want to try the installation again with some different settings. It sounds like a problem I had when installing Slackware 9.1 before. The problem for me was that I hadn't finished all the steps necessary to complete the installation.

Hope that helps some.

If you could try installing again (I know it could take a while) you may not get the message again. If you do, have a pen and paper ready to write down all you can of the error message before it shuts down. If you could maybe give us some hardware specs and a little info about your system it might help also. IMO, I would just try to re-install.

try installation in text mode.

During installation it will ask you whether you want to configure X.

I had similar problems installing fedora. multiple installs, several different selections for install types, still had problems...

I ended up installing with the ethernet unplugged and it installed fine... multiple times.
