Need to install dvd+rw-tools package RH9

Dear Linuxquestions-
I have successfully installed K3B, but now I need an rpm for Red Hat 9,( dvd+rw-tools5.x.x.x.rpm) or a way to get an apt package ( dvd+rw-tools5.x.x.x.??)that works with apt-get or synaptic. I am, to say the least, painfully unfamiliar at this point with anything other that rpm -i at the command line ( or perhaps running a ./ executable from the command line). I have got the dvd+rw-tools 5.x.x.x tar.gz file expanded to my /home directory but have no idea what the next step is to installing it on my system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
