Need to delete all email from pop3 account
I brilliantly had a PHP script stuck in an infinate loop emailing me-- thus, 29,000 emails in my inbox. Anybody know a quick way to simply purge all mail from my pop3 inbox?

I solved something like that once by emailing the provider's help desk and screaming out "delete please." Can't say the solution was all that elegant but I slept better!

Konqueror has an imap:/ protocol that you can use to open your mail box and have the email files show up in the file browser. You could then hit ctrl-a to select all of them and then hit delete.
Enter something like "imap://username@mail.isp.net" and then enter your password in the pop up dialog. I once had to delete a folder that I created ( I always use the imap protocol ) before I could subscribe to folders. ( This was years ago. That setup step isn't needed anymore in evolution. ) Using the imap:/ protocol got me out of the catch-22 situation I was in. |
