need something that can read a Microsoft Works text file

I need to get into a text document that was created in 1999 using Microsoft Works (not Word). Is there any Linux application that can read the Works word processing format? If I can't get into the file, I'll have to type it over from the eight-page hard copy. Help!

I happen to have an old copy of MS-Works; I created a test document in Works and verified that OpenOffice (OpenOffice 1.1, on my SuSE 9.3) was able to read it with absolutely no problem:

I've had equal success with OpenOffice successfully reading (MS Office 2000) MS-Word documents and MS Powerpoint presentations.

'Hope that helps .. PSM
