Need some help!

Ok I installed alsa-lib-0.9.6 and alsa-utils-0.9.6 and alsa-driver-0.9.6 but when I run alsamixer in the alsa-driver-0.9.6 directory it says:
Code:
alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such file or directory
It said I didnt have to use alsamixer so where can I get a OSS mixer if I cant figure out this mixer prob?

You might try Aumix. On slackware it is not installed by default But it is included on the CD -set in case one wants to use it.
