Need recommendation for easy to install Knowledge base software

Hello.

I am trying to find information on knowledge base software I can use and install. It needs to be fairly simple to install and maintain of course, can anyone make some recommendations?

Thank you

Not sure what you mean, but going by my understanding of your problem, probably A Wiki will serve your purpose

You may have a look at the knowledge base module of eGroupware (www.egroupware.org)

Thanks for that clarification doc.nice. Knowledge based software used to mean rule-based systems as in AI.

Hello,

Basically I need for my work software, a knowledge base where I can have a search engine to search for items. It would also be nice to have a page with a list of categories. I work for an ISP and we need to have a tool where we can easily search for past problems/solutions and concepts. I have looked at some open source solutions but they all require licenses. I need something that comes with detailed installation instructions documented thats not difficult to use. Thanks

Which packages have you looked at?

Have you been misunderstanding this type of statement:
Quote:
If your application incorporates 3rd Millennium software, but you do not want to distribute your software (internally or externally) under the General Public License, you must first obtain a commercial license from 3rd Millennium.
Obtaining a commercial license is only necessary if you modify the GPL'ed software and don't wish for it to remain GPL'ed.
If you don't modify it, or keep it GPL'ed, then a commercial license isn't necessary.

I found this paper on the web. Maybe it might help:
