I'm really sorry to hear that Ray! I wish I could give you good advice about that in return.

In the meantime, I found an extra @bypass line in my amavisd.conf that was left over from preliminary stages of the tutorial. Removed it and now ClamAV is in effect.

I'm not sure if it's updating regularly though. How might I check that? Is there a log somewhere?

The logs should be in

/var/log/clamd

Or at least that is my experience. Make sure that syslog is configured to spit out messages from ClamAV.

I am back in the hospital, but I am looking over your posts to see where I can be of help. I will get to them as soon as I can. Internet access is limited here.
