Need out put for directory.


I need to get a out put for a directory every thing that is in there and out put it to a .txt file.

You're requirements are a little vague ... have you tried 'ls -l $DIR > list.txt' ?

lol yeah i know i was on my cell phone when i asked.
Anyway i have a directory on my computer and i need to list all the files so i can print them out and a text file would be awesome i'm going to give the command a try thanks...
