need help with winex

I've installed winex, and all went fine. I've been able to install a few demo games and some small programs I had laying around. My problem is anything with install shield gives me error "iKernel.exe could not be launched" I get this with gta3 and jedi knight 2. I've also gotten an error that pops up when installing DirectX form the gta3 disk saying " Current logon user doesn't have Adminastrator priviledge. Please logon again as an Adminstrator or contact your PC Adminastrator."

Can anyone give me a hand with this?

The reason you get the administrator message is probably because the installer thinks it´s on a Win NT machine. I don´t think you´re supposed to install DirectX with winex, it´s supposed to be an implementation of directx, so the best solution is to get the latest version of winex instead of trying to install the latest version of directx with winex.

When installing games and Install Shield / Windows Installer etc. asks you if you want to install DirectX, just choose no. The whole point in using WineX is that it implements its own version of DirectX on top of wine.
