need help running "installed" nicotine
 
does anyone know what this means?

I'm not sure myself, but you might want to try to:
(1) Upgrade PyGTK
(2) Get the libPango library if you don't already have it

BTW, Nicotine is great once you get it installed. There's a new client, museek, but I haven't been able to install it succesfully.

Have you tried just extracting the nicotine tar.gz package, and just running it? There is no need to install it. Just extract the folder, and run nicotine from there...see if that works. Possibly something wrong occured when you installed it?

i did this before, but it would never save my settings, and that was a bummer when i put all my users in, they all got lost

That's very odd...it should save all of your information into ~/.nicotine
