Need help running adesklets on Slackware 9.1

First off sorry if this problem has already been asked and/or answered before but I did search and I couldn't find anything. I am trying to get adesklets running for fluxbox. So I downloaded adesklets and it compiled and installed just fine. Then I download a couple different desklets to try it out and when I try to run them I get this error:

python: Modules/gcmodule.c:231: visit_decref: Assertion 'gc->gc.gc_refs != 0' failed.
Aborted

I am assuming this is some kinda problem with python? But I'm not sure. If anyone could please shed some light on what I should do to get this up and running I would very much appreciate it. It's a fairly fresh install of Slackware 9.1. Thanks in advance.
