What I am:
:newbie: What I want to do. I want do install SuSE on three Computers, and i don't want to download the whole stuff three times. What I did: I downloaded the whole dir ftp.suse.con/pub/suse/i386/8.2 on my window PC (NTFS) and set up an ftp server (Titan FTP server) Then I tryed to install Linux from there. Etherithing was working well untill the selection of the Packages. My Problem: My SuSE Linux installation cant find any Packages. It only works directly from SuSE FTP. could someone tell me what the problem is? Pleace don't tell me, that i have downloaded this 6 gigs linux stuff for nothing. -> Sorry about my bad English, It's not my first language. |
Hi Gurke,
You haven't wasted your time :) but this may be a little more difficult than you think :( You need to export the data using NFS. (Not NTFS!) Take a look at http://nfs.sourceforge.net/ Good luck! |
thanks :-)

If you get ISO images when you download SuSe, burn the ISO images to CD in Windows (use Nero Burning Rom http://nero.com).
Then you can install it all ya want. |
