Need Help in Creating 1.5 TB partition in Advance server 3.0

Hi,
I have Advance server 3.0 with kernel 2.4.21-9.ELsmp.
I got 1.5 TB lun from storage on which Application needs single
bigger partition of 1.5 TB...Now if I do fdisk operation on this partition
it takes lot of time.
Also If I try to take this disk in LVM disk Group it takes lot of time..

Need Help in Creating 1.5 TB partition in Linux Advance server 3.0.
Kindly help in doing this....

Hardware information please?
SCSI, ISCSI or SATA controller(s)?
Number and type of hard drives?

I suspect a hardware problem.
Many 10K and 15K Ultra 320 SCSI hard drives have problems.
With that many drives (?) you may have one bad drive or cable.
