this line here tells you that this is probably the directory you want to cd to:

drwxrwxr-x 5 hassan hassan 4.0K Oct 23 10:52 snackAmp.vfs

cd snackAmp.vfs

but you should look around in there for the README or INSTALL file and look at it with either of these commands:

cat README

or

more README

sub INSTALL for README if there's an INSTALL file. not all tarballs will install with the ./configure, make, make install sequence. sometimes there's just a shellscript or a *.bin file that you run.

that right there
Could you give a direcorty listing after typing "cd snackAmp.vfs" ? It would give us a little insight in the files you see, and why there is no "configure" script

and this is what the readme file say's to do but i dont understand a word of it

Unix/Linux

Un-tar the snackAmp-2.2.tar.gz (.tar) files into the lib folder under your existing Tcl/Tk 8.2 or later installation. The files will be untared into a snackAmp folder. I try to make sure these files are in Unix format, but if not run dos2unix on them after untaring. Mark snackAmp.tcl as executable (chmod) and run it either from the desktop or command line. You may have to adjust the first line to adjust the version of wish invoked depending on your installed version of Tcl/Tk. Make sure Tcl/Tk 8.2 or later and snack 2.x are installed first. Don't forget the snack ogg libraries if you want ogg vorbis support.

After uninstalling the sources, you can run the snackAmp.tcl main script file to run the program.

Well.. there isn't a configure there, but some TCL script files, and a readme.txt. Please read the file (type "less readme.txt", and exit with "q")

I thini you need to start main.tcl, it's either made executable already, or type "wich main.tcl".

I get a little confused about tcl scripts too. Since they are not standard binary files that need to be compiled, you won't find a configure script.

What is this snackAmp program anyway?
