Need Help configuring Internet for Linux Laptop
Need help with configuration of linux laptop, i keep getting an error, says cant find ethernet adapter,module error 389 , the laptop is fairly new ,
toshiba satellite pro , it has a network adapter built in on the board , and a dial-up connection , the laptop originally had xp pro on it , i connected to the internet fine . for network connections i selected pppoe , and tried adsl , and lan , put in verizon.net for provider , the username and pass. I installed mandrake 9.0 , i tried a re-install but that didnt work. when i first install an option came up to pick connection type , Lan was already selected and it had detected in parenthisis. but still wasnt able to connected , any help would be greatly appreciated thanx |
OK, something doesn't make sense, what does your internet cable plug into on the back of your computer?

the cat 5 cable is connected to the on-board network adapter , but mandrake says the ehternet adapter is not connected
