Need help 'Startx' fails to start Xwindows
 
When giving command 'startx' or when running at runlevel 5, Xwindows fails to strt and gives the following error (Thanks for any help):

i normally get this problem when i have a corrupted /root/.xinitrc file or whatever user u have logged on as like /bob/.xinitrc...try deleting the appropriate .xinitrc file

also , if it still doesnt work ...try typing kdm, xdm or gdm

tell me what happened when u deleted .xinitrc

The file wasnt corrupted but all of the other window managers worked fine. SOmehow when I installed Pango I messed up gnome. I dont understand how Xmanagers work and I am not sure what I did. I upgraded to RH9 and this fixed the problem. I'm too noobish to fix it so I took the easy way out.
