Need guidance for removing software completely.

I have uninstalled squid 2.5 from my system using command
Code:
[root@localhost root]rpm -e squid
Now check that is there squid files.
Code:
[root@localhost root]# rpm-qa |grep squid
[root@localhost root]#
Now I use find command but it show the squid folder!

Code:
[root@localhost root]# find / -name squid
/var/spool/squid
/etc/squid
technically you think that squid has been successfully removed from my system ?
thanks
garden

Just remove those two directories and you will be good. /etc/squid is just for configuration and settings, and /var/spool/squid most likely will be empty.

What distro are you running? If squid 2.5 was installed via your package manager, you should remove it that way. If not, then you can safely hand remove everything, and install the newer version and be good to go.
