I have to get the CPU and Memory usage (%) of my machine for 10 minutes and show it in Graphical format.

Erm, Gnome and KDE both ship with monitors for that, or gkrellm is my tool of choice.

gkrellm
conky
and others...

I just run IceWM, cpu meter in the taskbar (with the right theme / configuration). It even lets you use custom colors for cpu / mem / disk. While not overly big, it does let me know when something is still doing stuff after I've closed it. Or why the laptop fan is kicking in on an otherwise idle machine.

Definitely GKRELLM.

This is my favorite one: http://www.muhri.net/gkrellm/nav.php3?node=pic&show=13

It is called SteelX, left and right side on the window.
Gkrellm has got 50 or more themes so you can change it as you want.
