Using package manager should find a few backup apps. Sadly there are many many ways. Each would require you to study a bit.

I can't guarantee that each backup plan will work. You may wish to find a local linux person to assist.

Commercial software such as Acronis is known to work well with linux. (it is linux)

Dimitri gave good marks to Backintime in one of his podcasts. It's a frontend for the rsync command, which is included in almost every Linux distro, including Mint.

Rsync works. If you don't like using the command line, grsync is a GUI front-end for it. A good backup strategy is to use rsync via a cronjob, run every day or at least every week. Cron isn't the most user-friendly system, but it works.

You could take a look at Acronis Backup for Linux, though it is commercial. But it will give you the Graphic interface, and quite simple operations – so will save time.

Also, they will make disk image with snapshots – so a bit more safe than rsync.
