need font help... fonts not rendering properly

Hey,

I am having major font issues and I don't understand fonts that well

Basically, I created a graph in Dia that looks great, it uses some images and some text

I then export to an eps, but when I try to view the eps with gs, the fonts look horrid, everything is grainy

When i view the eps in gv, it looks just fine

When i convert from eps to pdf with epstopdf, the pdf looks great

Finally, my overall goal, is to make this look correct in a latex document, so i try including the eps in latex and its also horribly grainy

I have tried using the sans, sarif, and times new roman fonts.

Can anyone provide me any help?

Thanks!
George
