Hello again Linux community, it's your favorite Dr. with another exercise in brain-scratching. =)
The problem: Toshiba SD-R5112 doesn't report properly to growisofs, which is what K3b wants to use. The hardware reporting indicates to growisofs that it's a DVD/CD-R combo, and not a DVD-R recorder. growisofs reports
Code:
failed to change write speed
Yes, it does burn DVD-Rs just fine in Windows, so it's /capable/ of it, at 4x.
A suggested work-around is using the 'ignore' ability in K3b, which does work. At 1x. Burning 4 Gig of data off to a DVD becomes an overnight job for me, not always the best if I need something in a relative hurry.
So...is there a way to get 2-4x write support with K3b/growisofs, can I drop growisofs for another alternative and still use K3b (which I like very much), or is there another burning package that y'all would recommend?
Thanks for the input, and keep rockin' y'all. =)
