Need advice: Running Windows java program under Wine

I have a program for Windows that I'd like to get running under Wine. "ChairGun Pro". It is a ballistics program for air rifles and .22's, to calculate trajectories, etc.

http://www.hawkeoptics.com/chairgun.html

It requires Java, and I was able to get the program running, sort of, by installing the Windows version of Java under Wine. However, the screen is jittery, menus come and go inappropriately, areas of the screen don't refresh properly - so the program is unusable.

Any tips on what I might try to get this working would be appreciated!

Linux Mint (Maya)
kernel 3.2.0, 64 bit
Wine 1.4 (I tried it emulating Windows XP and also Windows 7 - same poor results)
JRE 1.7.0 (Windows version)

sadly things like that just may never work properly in wine. you might be better off installing VMWare or VirtualBox and putting winXP/7 in a virtual environment to run that app.

sorry.

I might be tempted to look into why is seems so unstable. One could look at any of the system paramaters. There are plenty of wine tweaks and you could use the commercial trial of Crossover Office's product.

I think I'd try a virtual machine using ReactOS or some version of windows.

Guess you could ask them for source code for mac and maybe it could compile in linux.

Doesn't want to expand in 7-zip or universal extractor.

Other ideas may be to load this on a windows system and move the registry to wine. That may not help you at all on this problem.
