Need a program capable of ripping PS1 isos

I use a iso cd plugin for my Playstation emulator for speed reasons but the ripping utility that comes with the plugin is very slow and k3b gives me a error saying "K3b can only copy CD-Extra mixed mode cds". What program should I use to get a reasonably fast rip of my Playstation games?

"dd" isn't too bad, but it's not blazing fast
