I got my Drivers installed for my wusb54gs usb wireless adpaters... I got up to the point where you can go iwconfig wlan0 and it shows info for the device but everything is set to 00:00 and when I try to follow instructions and do iwconfig wlan0 set essid EESID i dont know what to do??? how do I get the puppy running and get on the internet?

i'm very excited about getting this to work...


I do iwlist wlan0 scan and it says wlan doesnt support scanning? What do I do..???

Maybe try 'activating the card from your Network Management screen. It usually helps to give a clue of what distro you're using

I'm using Mandriva 2006... I didnt update it yet tho still downloading through windows...

dont have ip select have DHCP... for DHCP i dont know what to put...? the mac address?

THen I have the config page... Operating mode, freqcues, ESSID, network id, bitrate... Not sure what to put for ESSID and network id???? What is ESSID?

I have the access points info i want to connect saved from when I use Windows... i have mac address netmask ip name of accesspoint netgear-sy just dont know how to get it all working...

546kb were sent in network monitor one time, i have been able to get that to happen again since i been changing settings... whenever i try to iwconfig wlan0 <any command> it says this operation isnt supported or invalid argument... if noone can help ill just get cable...
