I'm using nautilus in fluxbox and now I'm wondering if there is any way I can change the appearance of the 'date modified' column.
This is how the column looks now:
Code:
Thursday, September 25 2003 at 3:47:21 PM
Sunday, August 8 2004 at 12:48:57 PM
This is stupid for more than one reason, but the most obvious is that I can't sort the column in a good way...
Is it possible to change the display to, let's say:
Code:
2003-09-25, 03:47:21
2004-08-08, 12:48:57
2004-08-17, 12:42:10
This would make sorting easier as well as displaying the date in a format that I am familiar with.
It would also make it less of a clutter in the nautilus window.
I'm not using gnome so I'm not sure if I have the necessary gnome tools available... I think it should be possible to edit some files though, but I can't seem to find any relevant.
egrep -iR '%Y|date' ~/.gnome* doesn't seem to show any related info and the same goes for ~/.nautilus.
Perhaps nautilus is using my locales which are set to en_US...?
I'm not quite sure if I had this problem before I upgraded nautilus... either way I didn't notice this to be a problem until recently.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Ok, it seems that locales are involved in some way.
Starting nautilus with:
Code:
LC_TIME=swedish nautilus --no-desktop --browser
will give me the date column with entries in swedish.
The date format is still wrong though, and I haven't been able to change that...
It's strange since the date format is displayed correctly when I do a regular
ls -l and one would think that nautilus would use the same format.

Keep them suggestions coming...
