NANO gone crazy


I can open file in nano but when i hit back space it is acting like Del on keep board

so if i had abc|de and curser was at where line is it would delete d insted of c anyone help me

its driveing me crazy

or

set rebinddelete in nanorc

na tried that i.e. just copied and pasted that into nanorc file but nothing happened.

and -d just brings up all options -D is write file in dos mode but nothing happenes there

set rebinddelete

Maybe you have an old version? Get 1.3.10 from nano's site, it's a development version but seems pretty stable.

Compiled options: --enable-extra --disable-wrapping-as-root --enable-color --en able-multibuffer --enable-nanorc

I think that's the latest stable, it obviously doesn't have delete rebinding yet. Like I said, try the new development version (1.3.10). In addition you will also get a well working UTF-8 support and a bunch of other new features I've had no problems with it so far.
