Nagios compiling warning: ignoring return value

Hello,

When I try to compile Nagios on a new box I keep getting a lot of messages as follow with these strange characters:

Code:
nagios.c: In function ‚main‚:
nagios.c:463: warning: ignoring return value of ‚getcwd‚, declared with attribute warn_unused_result
nagios.c:653: warning: ignoring return value of ‚asprintf‚, declared with attribute warn_unused_result
nagios.c:680: warning: ignoring return value of ‚asprintf‚, declared with attribute warn_unused_result
nagios.c:780: warning: ignoring return value of ‚asprintf‚, declared with attribute warn_unused_result
nagios.c:846: warning: ignoring return value of ‚asprintf‚, declared with attribute warn_unused_result
nagios.c:858: warning: ignoring return value of ‚asprintf‚, declared with attribute warn_unused_result
nagios.c:860: warning: ignoring return value of ‚asprintf‚, declared with attribute warn_unused_result

The make all, make, make install works fine and Nagios gets installed..
1. Is it normal?
2. Where does these errors come from?
3. Should I be worried about the errors?

PS: I do have the same behaviour when I compile pnp4nagios

If you don't have special requirement, I suggest you install from binary package (if your distro supported). In my opinion, there's no need to worry about that errors.

Hi Quanta

I've kept the package compile from source as I prefer to do so.
I've finish to install and configure everything and it's working fine.

Thanks anyway,
Angel.
