Nagios as network monitoring application (central monitoring server)

Anybody of you uses Nagios for checking services? Seems like it's a very impressive system and network monitoring application.

I'd like to set up a server that just does monitoring of the services for instance. Let's say we have 3 servers and 1 monitoring server (just does monitoring). Is it possible using event handlers to restart a service on a host if it's for instance not running, etc? If so, does anybody of you have example configurations and scripts for that and can push me into the right direction?

Monit has this feature for instance ... so it does not only do monitoring but also acting on defineable happenings.

Those of you who don't know what Nagios is at all check out http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/1...ut.html#whatis - it's really impressive ;)
