MythTv - I forgot to have LIRC support before compiling

I installed mythtv onto a Slackware 12.2 machine, just using the Slackbuild.org builds and I forgot to install lirc before I compiled Mythtv. I want to use my remote, so do i need to install lirc and then recompile Myth? Or is there a easier way, like adding lirc now and starting it with 'sudo lircd -H udp -d 5000'?

Recompiling Myth shouldn't be too bad, as long as you didn't clean out the build directory. It should only recompile those object files that include lirc support. I imagine you'll have to do this anyway, as Myth likely doesn't include the client support code for lirc if it's not enabled/detected during the configure step.
