mythtv and video IPOD

So I have a FC4 mythtv box(yess best thing in the world Mythtv.) I am soon to be the owner of a new video ipod. So of course I would love to find a way to transcode the .nuv format that mythtv writes in the database to mpeg4. I think mpeg4 is the ipod video format. Though I do not want to sync my ipod with my FC4 box, only my powerbook. I have read about myth2ipod, a simple script for doing kinda of what I want. The only thing is the instructions are geared to knoppmyth, does anyone know a HOWTO for FC4. Or any other way to transcode my shows so I can put them on my powerbook then to IPOD.

base line:
get shows I recored on my mythtv to my video IPOD.
