MythMusic fails to open ALSA:default
 

All, I'm setting up a PVR with MythTV. I've got MythTV working and have just about all the plugins operating properly, however Mythmusic continues to elude me.

I've specified for MythMusic to use ALSA:default for output however it continues to tell me that it can't open the device. At first I thought 'maybe MythTV already has the device open ... and the channel can't handle two inputs'. So I dug around on ALSA's site for a bit and I can now play two XMMS streams at the same time using the ALSA output plugin set to device=default. But still no joy with mythmusic; same error.

Any advice or ideas?

ah, nevermind... it seems that snd-mixer-oss and snd-pcm-oss weren't getting loaded at startup. After loading them /dev/dsp became available and Mythmusic seems happy with it.
