Unhappy Myth TV compilation issues (again! yay!)

I'm trying to get Myth TV to install / compile. I'm running Slackware 10.0 on a p4 1.3ghz (though that shouldn't matter), and I've got qt working all peachy, as well as the tuner card.
However, every time Myth gets to compiling libs/libmyth it spews out an enormous pile of errors that read:
{standard input}:<number>: Error: symbol `<symbol>' is already defined
I've tried versions 0.15 and 0.16 of Myth with the same results. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I couldn't seem to copy the error output and post it into here (I'm using Window Maker and rxvt. If there's some way I overlooked, please tell me). I hope the above is enough to go off of.

actually, going off a strange hunch, I managed to solve the problem myself. Seems automake was setting a collection of environment variables, and rebooting cleared them all. And here I thought my days of "if I reboot, it works again" were over when I stopped using win32.
wellp, all in all, me =
