MySQL Stored Procedure Question??

I am writing java code to call a MySQL database. I would like to used stored procedures so that my code is not litered with long query Strings. Can stored procedures/functions in MySQL return collections of data (ie a ResultSet)?

I was under the impression that support for stored procedures will be included in the next milestone release, 5.0 or so...?

Håkan
They are available in the new release 5.0 +, this release is still in development. You can check out my site http://www.mysqldevelopment.com for more information on MySQL stored procedures.

So you dug up a post that's one year old to make a little advertisment for your site? Cute.

Yes and what's wrong with that. I built the site because having looked and looked on the net all I found was loads of questions like this one with no answer, just a dead end as far as MySQL Stored Procedures are concerned.

The site has been done totally at my own expense, there are no sponsors, no adverts and no mailing lists. Use of the site is free and I certainly won't be making any money from the site and infact it's likely to cost me money.

The word advertisment has the conotation that I'm selling something or that there will be a charge. I would use the term promote.

The reason I replied to this thread was simply because if people are searching the net for MySQL Stored Procedure information they may be taken here, which is a dead end. The link to my site gives them the chance to answer a question they may have, free of charge, without adverts.
