MySQL server start up problems
I've installed and uninstalled MySQL a number of times and can't seem to get it to run. I had it before I tried to upgrade to Fedora from RH9.0 and then needed to reinstall everything.
First, when I run it was telling me it couldn't find files in /usr/local/bin that were there. So I changed the permissions on those files and then it told me it couldn't find /usr/local/var, so I made it and set the owner to mysql.
Now the server starts with databases from /usr/local/var and then exits the server immediately.
There is no error message, just:
# ./mysql.server start
# Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /usr/local/var
031209 16:01:51 mysqld ended
Anyone have any idea? Cuz I'm stumped.
Thanks
