Hi Guys,

I need some help.

I've been trying to install the latest MySQL-Server RPM (MySQL-server-4.0.14-0.i386.rpm) and have been getting this errors :

file /etc/my.cnf from install of MySQL-server-4.0.14-0 conflicts with fi
le from package mysql-3.23.56-1.9
file /usr/bin/isamchk from install of MySQL-server-4.0.14-0 conflicts wi
th file from package mysql-3.23.56-1.9
file /usr/bin/isamlog from install of MySQL-server-4.0.14-0 conflicts wi
th file from package mysql-3.23.56-1.9

I've deleted all the files within all the error msg.. but still I kept getting this error.

How do I delete the old package?
I've gone through through Add/Remove Application
and remove the MYSQL-server installation.

Got the answer...

I didn't use the --nodeps option when I was trying to erase the previous package... rpm --erase --nodeps --allmatches [package]
... Woohooo...

did you try -U the update option
