mysql problem???


Hello World!

I am running FC4 and I am trying to start my mysql server. when I run the command mysql.

I get this error:

ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)

can anyone tell me what this error means?

any help is appreciated!!!!!

You start mysql by doing something like
Code:
#service mysql start
If there are any problems, they will be printed on the screen.
