mysql/php install

I'm trying to set up PHP and mySQL on Fedora 5 (prereqs for phpBB). I need mysql-server and mysql, minimum, that I can tell. And php and php-mysql. I'm getting basic and apparently wrong dependency errors. I install mysql, and then try and install mysql-server, and I'm told I need to install my-sql. rpm confirms that my-sql (correct version) is installed. Same with php and php-mysql. In the second case I confirmed that php was running, brought up a test page with Apache. Thanks for any advice.

solved

I used the Gnome application to install software, instead of using cmd line rpm and yum to work on packages, and whatever was wrong was corrected. It downloaded dependent packages instead of reading from the DVD and did who knows what else, but the packages installed and run, very curious. Perhaps an expert on package management knows what happened.
