Thank martinman and rumblefish - Got the index.php to work, via a browser, but when I click on any link I get the error "Object not found" - I think that the files may not be pointing to the right place - The weird thing is that I can see the databases in the left table but when I select anything - one the whole page I get "object not found"...words of wisdom??

I would highly recommend phpmyadmin as well.

im having problems to install the patch for mysql in linux, can anibody help me out?

phpMyAdmin install was very simple - I really like the web gui - thanks again for all of your help guys
