Mysql Compiling - gcc, g++ not found

Ive downloaded the latest source from mysql's website, uncompressed and configured with prefix of /usr/local/mysql
and when i run make i get this error
../depcomp: line 512: exec: g++: not found
make[2]: *** [my_new.o] Error 127
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/mysql-5.0.41/mysys'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/mysql-5.0.41'
make: *** [all] Error 2

and i have gcc installed according to yum, isn't g++ included in gcc?
Thanks for the help, using centos latest version

Edit-Solved: nevermind, appears that mysql needs gcc-c++, which is not included in yum's gcc

Not really...
gcc contains g++, but if you install from package manager... most likely they're in different packages
