Question My Xmms wont play mp3s

I just installed RedHat 9.0 Shrike, and I can't get XMMS to play Mp3's. It gives me a message that says due to copyright laws, XMMS is disabled from the ability to play Mpeg Layer 1, Mpeg Layer 2, and Mpeg 3 files. Sorry for the inconvenience. I know for a fact that I've used Shrike before that would play MP3's through XMMS. Anyone have a clue?
