My user login session in SUSE Linux 9.1 version gets corrupted every now and then
 
I had a user Account name utiwari on my suse Linux box and it worked fine for some days.But after sometime I was not able to login with "utiwari" account.All I could do is create a new account and login,but that account also gives the sanme problem once I shutdown and restart.I need help quickly.Actually I have found a reason as to why this is happening but I donot know the solution.Every time I download a yahoo messenger rpm and install it,my user account in suse start giving problem..any fix

If you are using KDE and Yast, you can change the account settings (incl. expiry date) in the security module (click on your user, then 'edit', 'Password settings')

On console, you may set the expiry with usermod -e <YYYY-MM-DD> username or change the default setting in /etc/default/useradd
