My Screen is going Crazy please Help!!!!

Okay, so normaly I run my monitor Res at 1400x900 and it looks just fine. But somehow, (i dident tell it to do this) when i restarted my computer, my screen was huge, i had to scroll off to the sides to see the whole desktop. so i restarted it again. Now the desktop is all on the screen, but it is 640x480....and thats the higest res it will let me have. I dont know why it did this, i dont know how to fix it, can anyone help?

Fixed it. I had to use the "System Settings" then "Monitor and Display" then "Hardware" and Configure the monitor to be a 1280x800 LCD. then restart.
