my mouse cursor is stuck with the clock
 

I recently found an old cd of mine which contained the instalation of staroffice 5.2, which I used about three years ago with redhat, I didn't ever used it a lot and now I found it and decided to see how it works in my mandrake 9.1 (kernel 2.4.21) kde 3.1

I installed it, and he told me that kde should be restarted for changes to take effect (which I didn't like cause it remind me of windows) but anyway I logged out and in again, and since that my mouse stays in the clock shape as if working in the background, even though the hdd led is not lit.

I got scared and tried to unistall staroffice but the unistallation program won't work. Then I entered as root and deleted the hole staroffice folder tree located in /usr/local/soffice52/, then restarted kde and the mouse was still in clock shape, but guess what? I start a konqueror as different user (root) and the mouse goes back to the arrow shape.

Every time I login it's in clock shape and just starting konqueror as root wihtout doing anything else takes it back to arrow shape. I can even close konqueror as root after that.

I tried creating another user and it doesn't happen to other users. I even removed my user and create it again and it didn't happen on the first login, but it has happened ever since.

what should I remove/modify in my system to have my arrow-shaped mouse cursor back. I like my username and won't like to create another user for me with another username. There must be a way to get around with this but I just don't know it.
