My Home directory shortcut folder on my desktop doesn't work

I have no idea why it doesn't, it just did 2 bootups ago. When I right click mine and open it with kedit, it says:

Anything wrong here?

If you are using gnome and Nautilus is drawing your desktop. Then if you open the "Start" menu (in lack of a proper name for it) there is an entry for your home folder. Drag that on to your desktop.

Can you open your home folder with that?

Sorry I didn't say I was using kde. The home folder there in the menu doesn't work either. My friends home folder has a bunch more garble. We have exactly the same distro, kernel, all that cause I copied my rh9 discs for him, so would it be safe to put what he has in mine?
