my firefox extensions stopped working!!

for some reason, my extensions stopped working. they are stuck in a
limbo state where it asks me to restart the browser to finish
installing or uninstalling or whatever. i have restarted my browser. i
have even restarted my computer. several times. still when i open
my browser and look at the extensions it says "this add-on will be
uninstalled when Firefox is restarted." i don't know what to do at
this point. anyone have any suggestions?

Have you considered backing-up your bookmarks and starting with a fresh config by deleting your ~/.mozilla directory? I mean, unless you really want to try to find the root cause of this, of course. But you can always just backup your ~/.mozilla directory instead of deleting it in case you want to be able to return to your current state.
Code:
mv ~/.mozilla ~/.mozilla.bak

thank you for your replay win32sux.

Reading your signature an immediate consideration comes out from me: solaris is not a free environment, are you just against win32.dll or agaist everythings under a ownership state?

what's your mind on this?

No problem. Did a fresh config help?

My signature is designed to look like it's about Solaris the OS at first glance.
