Chipset * NVIDIA nForce2 IGP + nForce2 MCP So this is the link for your drivers -> http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_nforce_1.0-0261 Just read the information and follow the instructions. I don't have this type of chipset, and I'm not using RedHat. You may want to check our RedHat forum and see if there's anything posted there. However, I believe reading the README - HTML Version file at the Nvidia site will give you all the information you need. |
did that and installed :)
have 2 cards recognized Is the second one my external dsl modem connected to my Ethernet card???? my next question is how do i get online using my verizon on-line dsl account? |
Can you please post the output of ->
# lspci The # means that in the bash shell you are running as su (superuser). I have never seen Fedora, but open a terminal. If you have it available, xterm will do just fine. If you've logged in as a normal user, which you should have done, your prompt will be a $ and all you need to do is type su and then give it your root password. Then at the # type lspci and post that here. |
ok here is what i get
[joe9498@localhost joe9498]$su password: [roote@localhost joe9498]# ispci bash:ispci:comand not found |

So that we have some information, while you're in Windoze and actually online, try to find out how you're connected to the internet. You can just double-click on your little computer icon in the system tray and click on your nic and then double-click on TCP/IP and see if it says to detect automatically, or if there are numbers entered. If there are, then write them down. Forgive the lack of technical jargon, but I don't know your level of knowledge. You'll let us know if you need more help, though. |
ok re entered with lspci
got Bash:lspci:comand not found |
it automatically detects my ip
know how for windows is excellent but this is my first day with Linux. i got a feeling my windows background will be more of a harm than a help |

Two things.
First, I've been searching LQ and reading so maybe I can give you some useful help. So read this thread http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=114014 and see if it doesn't help you. Especially post #10. I'd really like to see you have a pleasant experience with *nix. I've used Windoze for many years; and I presently build and repair computers. I've had a belly full of Micro$loth, and am migrating to Linux. I'm getting Wine setup right now to use PageMaker under Slackware. It's one of the programs I need, that seems to have no replacement in open source software. Second, what does your nick mean? I've got an idea, but one thing I've learned from living in China. Don't think you can figure something out just by looking. |
im not a born again christian if thats what you are thinking
i was If in a mmolrpg and then i rerolled if reborn i liked the ring so i kept it :) |
