Question mxdatetime

I'm new to linux and i'm trying to access a postgresql database in python, however i need to install a module named mxdatetime. I've got the module in a rpm format and i'm having trouble installing it. I tried rpm -i mxdatetime.rpm but it comes up with:
warning user lemburg does not exist - using root
I'm now stuck and don't know where to go or what to do can someone help me please

Looks like the rpm you found was poorly made. Try one from here:

Note that I'm not 100% sure it's the same thing; you'll have to verify yourself.

funny things that where i got the rpm from. i think that the problem wasn't that, it did unzip but to a different folder and i had to track them down, ran the configure and i guess it worked, but wouldn't know because i don't know what i'm doing really, and to top things off i need to install the postgresql headers because redhat doesn't install them! D'oh. So i think that the beginning of my problems has just started (and my machine was running apache all fine and dandy till i started this , and now it doesn't work) Double D'oh
